From zero to live bot
in under 10 minutes.

This guide walks you through opening a Deriv MT5 account, connecting it to ForgeAlpha, and deploying your first automated trading bot.

Create a Deriv account

Deriv is our recommended broker — fast setup, low spreads, and works perfectly with ForgeAlpha. Sign up free and get your MT5 account in minutes.

  • Verify your email address
  • Complete the short identity verification (required by regulation)

Enable MT5 and get your credentials

Inside the Deriv portal, activate a MetaTrader 5 account. Deriv will send you login credentials — you'll need these to connect ForgeAlpha.

  • Log in to Deriv and go to your Dashboard
  • Select "Add account" → choose MetaTrader 5 (MT5)
  • Pick a server (e.g. Deriv-Server) and set a trading password
  • Copy your MT5 login ID and note the server name — you'll need both
Tip: Check your email after activation — Deriv sends your MT5 login details there too.

Connect your MT5 account to ForgeAlpha

Head to ForgeAlpha and add your MT5 account. We use MetaApi to connect securely — your password is never stored on our servers.

  • Create your ForgeAlpha account (free during beta)
  • Go to Accounts → Add MT5 Account
  • Enter your MT5 login ID, password, and server name from Step 2
  • ForgeAlpha will connect and sync your account balance

Build a strategy with AI

Describe your trading idea in plain English and our AI will turn it into a deployable strategy — complete with entry rules, exit rules, and risk management. No coding required.

  • Go to Strategies → Create Strategy and open the AI chat
  • Describe what you want: "scalp EURUSD on RSI oversold with trailing stop"
  • The AI builds your rules using 74 built-in indicators — review and tweak as needed
  • Run a backtest to see how your strategy performs on historical data
Tip: Already have a trading style? You can also upload your MT5 trade history and let ForgeAlpha reverse-engineer a strategy from your past trades.

Deploy your first bot

Once you're happy with your strategy's backtest results, deploy it as a live bot. Your bot runs 24/7 on your Deriv MT5 account — no need to keep ForgeAlpha open.

  • Publish your strategy, then create a new Bot
  • Assign capital from your MT5 account balance
  • Hit Start — your bot is now live and monitoring the market
  • Track performance in real-time from the Bots dashboard
Tip: Try Paper Trading mode first — it simulates live trading with no real money at risk.
